What is the procedure for testing and tagging equipment?

Electrical equipment and appliances are tested and tagged in order to increase electrical safety in both the home and workplace, as well as to identify broken, faulty, or malfunctioning equipment.

To test.

Our test and tag specialists conduct both visual and electrical testing to identify problems with electrical devices, equipment, and appliances. Things that our specialists look for include:

Broken wires and cords.

A malfunction has caused the safety switches to remain active.

Faulty wiring.

Washing/ bleaching/dying/coloring etc. The damage caused by moisture or chemicals is known as chemical damage or corrosion. There are current leaks or spikes.

Grounding faults.

There are problems with insulation.

During the testing process, an electrical device is coloured appropriately if problems are identified.

Labeling

There are two types of tagging when it comes to tagging electrical appliances or equipment.

It is mandatory in the construction and demolition industry to use specially designated test tag colours to refer to the month in which the testing was done.

Outside of the construction and demolition industries, colour coding is not required by law. However, to avoid confusion, the same tag colours are used most of the time.

What is the appropriate frequency for testing?

The test and tag phases should be completed as part of an OHS plan, which will be created by the company. This is a suggested frequency for most environments. Constructions, demolition, and building sites require a three-month notice period.

• 6 Months: for factories, warehouses, or production.

For large offices, clinics, and homes, the system provides 12 months of waterless urination technology. A filter that lasts 5 years is suitable for small offices and homes.
